Previously known as the Islamabad International Airport, it was renamed after the late Pakistani prime minister Benazir Bhutto in June 2008.The airport handled 4767860 passengers between 2015-16 compared to 3803060 in 2012-13. The airport was not located in Islamabad, but was instead in the area of Chaklala in neighbouring Rawalpindi. *MOTORWAY TARNOL INTERCHANGE(Adjacent) M-2 motorway is a north-south motorway in Pakistan, connecting Rawalpindi/Islamabad to Lahore.The motorway is 375 km long and located entirely in Punjab. It passes through, Faizpur pur, Kot Abdull Malik, Kala shah Kaku, Sheikhupura, Khanqah Dogran, Kot Sarwar, Pindi bhattian, Salem, Lilla, Kot Momin, Kallar Kahar, balksar, Nila Dhula and Chakri before ending just outside the twin cities Rawalpindi and Islamabad. It was the first motorway built in south Asia. At junction of M2 and M1 there is an interchange which on one side connect Islamabad/Rawalpindi through an expressway of 8km long, and the new Islamabad international airport through the other side of junction. *C-Pack Highway, Islamabad The Deep-sea port of Gwadar is supposed to be connected to the Chinese border through two routes- eastern route and western route.
